  • Will design and implement nutritious and appealing menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents.
  • Oversee meal services for diet accuracy, portion sizes, temperature, texture modifications, overall presentation, and quality.
  • Maintain departmental staff records, conduct evaluations, coach, monitor absenteeism/tardiness, counsel/discipline, and terminate employees according to organization policies.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise the dining staff to ensure high-quality service and adherence to policies.
  • Prepare and manage the budget for dining services, including cost control and resource allocation.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, including sanitation standards and dietary guidelines.
  • Interact with residents to gather feedback and enhance their dining experience.
  • Clearly communicate goals within the department and organization.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with food suppliers and negotiate contracts.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient supplies while minimizing waste.
  • Manage purchasing, receiving, storage, and distribution of food and supplies following established sanitation and quality standards.
  • Plan and execute special dining events and activities to enrich the resident experience.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to accommodate specific dietary needs and restrictions.
  • Communicate with other health professionals and participate in interdisciplinary team client care meetings.
  • Implement continuous quality improvement procedures for food service department.
  • Develop and maintain dining employee time schedules and assignments.
  • Participate in the preparation and execution of special events, banquets and themed meals.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all staff and residents’ information (HIPPA).
  • Respect and honor client dietary preferences/ intolerances.
  • Manage time efficiently.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations to provide a safe dining environment.
  • Handle budgeting and cost control.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Five years of experience in food services in a restaurant, assisted living, or a health-related facility, including two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or management position.
  • Requires ServSafe Certification, Allergen Awareness Training Certification, and Dietary Manager Certification.
