Job #126835E JOB DUTIES- Will design and implement nutritious and appealing menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents.
- Oversee meal services for diet accuracy, portion sizes, temperature, texture modifications, overall presentation, and quality.
- Maintain departmental staff records, conduct evaluations, coach, monitor absenteeism/tardiness, counsel/discipline, and terminate employees according to organization policies.
- Recruit, train, and supervise the dining staff to ensure high-quality service and adherence to policies.
- Prepare and manage the budget for dining services, including cost control and resource allocation.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, including sanitation standards and dietary guidelines.
- Interact with residents to gather feedback and enhance their dining experience.
- Clearly communicate goals within the department and organization.
- Establish and maintain relationships with food suppliers and negotiate contracts.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient supplies while minimizing waste.
- Manage purchasing, receiving, storage, and distribution of food and supplies following established sanitation and quality standards.
- Plan and execute special dining events and activities to enrich the resident experience.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to accommodate specific dietary needs and restrictions.
- Communicate with other health professionals and participate in interdisciplinary team client care meetings.
- Implement continuous quality improvement procedures for food service department.
- Develop and maintain dining employee time schedules and assignments.
- Participate in the preparation and execution of special events, banquets and themed meals.
- Ensure confidentiality of all staff and residents’ information (HIPPA).
- Respect and honor client dietary preferences/ intolerances.
- Manage time efficiently.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations to provide a safe dining environment.
- Handle budgeting and cost control.
- Five years of experience in food services in a restaurant, assisted living, or a health-related facility, including two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or management position.
- Requires ServSafe Certification, Allergen Awareness Training Certification, and Dietary Manager Certification.
